Single discography
Last modification: 2015-03-19
Here you will find all of The Darkness' single releases. Most of them are not that collectable unfortunately, though they released most singles on vinyl and have some neat promotional releases. The best part is that nearly each single has one or more non-album B-sides!

- Comments:
- Without any notice a new song was released as a single in November 2013, same for the previous entry. It was issued as a digital single and as a 7" picture disc, although I am not too sure if the 7" was released on the same date or a year later.

- The promotional CD features the album version and an instrumental version. You can actually combine the instrumental with the album version to create a digital copy of the album's unique vinyl version.

- Comments:
- The first teaser for the new album, Hot Cakes. This song was released as a promotional-only CD in January 2012. It was also given away as a free download on the official website and has its own video. Ace!
- This is an earlier mix when compared to the version that ended up on the album. The download from the official website was tagged as the Frenchie mix. 2011.
- Please note that the song is called Nothing's Gonna Stop Us on this single, but Nothin's Gonna Stop Us on the album.

Girlfriend
- Released:
- 2006-05-22
- Comments:
- Ok. The song is great, but I completely understand why this never charted. It just was not made for a wider audience! The horrible video certainly also did not help. This was released on CD, DVD and as a 10" shaped picture disc.
- A digital single was released as well, but the remixes were tagged incorrectly.
- The CD-single was also released in a cardsleeve in Europe (possibly in the Netherlands and Germany only).
- At least one promotional CD was released in Europe which comes in a cardsleeve with unique artwork.
- An uncut test pressing exists for the 10" vinyl release. This disc has therefore the size of a standard 12" disc. So far one copy is known to exist, although more were probably made and might be out there somewhere.

Is It Just Me?
- Released:
- 2006-02-13
- Comments:
- By the time this single was released, The Darkness were already written off and their chart success started to go down. This single got some pretty bad reviews, although the track is (in my opinion) very good! It was released on CD, DVD and once again as a 7" picture disc. The DVD release is for whatever reason pretty hard to find these days!
- The Australian CD-single release has the same sleeve as the European DVD release.
- Two promotional one-track CD-singles exist. The only difference is that one comes in a cardsleeve and the other in a jewel case.

One Way Ticket
- Released:
- 2005-11-14
- Comments:
- The first release from their, then, new album One Way Ticket To Hell ...And Back. It was released on CD as a two and three track single, DVD and as a 7" picture disc (which is also partly clear vinyl).
- The main track has been edited down to 3:43 minutes.
- At least two promotional CD's were released in Europe. Both just feature one track, being the radio edit of the main song. The first one comes in a slim jewel case, the second in a cardsleeve with a detachable ticket to hell! The radio edit is an even shorter version than the single edit: the track immediately starts with guitar.
- A promotional one track CD-single was released in the US with in a normal jewel case.

Get Your Hands Off My Woman... Again
- Released:
- 2004-11-08
- Comments:
- Get Your Hands Off My Woman... Again was a download-only single which was available for one month and could only be bought at the official website. It was a re-recording, produced by Roy Thomas Baker, and was very likely one of the first recordings that the band did with Roy.
- This new recording has a bit more meat on the bones and sounds punchier. The biggest surprise is the inclusion of a short piano solo!
- Also released as a promotional CDr which contains a clean radio-friendly version as the second track. They however simply removed the bad language from the vocal track, rather than recording other words.
- Tracklisting digital release:
- Get Your Hands Off My Woman... Again

Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)
- Released:
- 2003-12-15
- Comments:
- A great Christmas release which did not hit the number one spot because of Gary Jules' Mad World cover. It was released on CD, DVD and as a nice shaped 7" picture disc which came in a 12" sleeve.
- Sweden had a unique two track CD-single in a cardsleeve with I Believe In A Thing Called Love as the second track.
- Two one-track promotional CD-singles were released. One comes in a slim jewel case and has the same artwork as the commercial DVD-single. The second one came in special The Darkness gift wrapping. When unwrapped, you will find a white box with the band's logo on it which holds the CD and a Christmas card.

- The US had a two track promo CD (plus a video track) in a normal jewel case with a great picture as the backsleeve. A second promotional CD featured just one track.

Get Your Hands Off My Woman
- Released:
- 2003-02-24
- Comments:
- Their first single that was also commercially available for a wider audience. This single was released on 7" and CD.
- The first pressing of the CD-single had a printing error on the small strip at the back of the sleeve. The tracks were listed as 1, 2 and 2 instead of 1, 2 and 3. This was corrected for a second pressing.
- A funny remark: track three was labeled as "(clean version)" on the back of the sleeve, as "('clean' version) on the small strip at the back and as "(clean radio version)" on the CD itself. Now you can decide what the actual tag of this song is!
- A promotional CD was released in Europe with no artwork.

I Believe In A Thing Called Love
- Released:
- 2002-08-12
- Comments:
- This is their debut release, issued in August 2002. It contains three tracks of which track two is an alternate/early version and was re-recorded for their 2003 debut album Permission To Land. The other two tracks are identical to the 2003 album version, although they have been mastered/equalized differently.
- The single is limited to just a few 100 copies and was only for sale at a number of concerts.
- There are stock images on the internet which have the word EP on the front sleeve behind the title. These copies do not exist as confirmed by the band in September 2012 (credits to Steve P).
