Mumm-Ra are an English indie rock band who started in 2000 and called it a day in April 2008. Two of the members soon formed Mirrors.

They released one album, one EP and a handful of singles. Most singles hit the UK Top 40 singles chart and their song She’s Got You High became quite popular after it was featured in the 2009 movie (500) Days of Summer.

It has been said many times that Mumm-Ra will reform again. This was even hyped in 2011, though Mumm-Ra’s (and Mirrors’) singer denied this. A one-off reunion was however announced on the 27th of September 2012 for a small gig in Hastings. A further surprise came in 2013 when they released a new single and a full (mini) album in 2014!

Another out-of-the-blue single was released on the 13th of March 2024. Further activities are currently unknown.

Note that I am aware of some very old Mumm-Ra EP’s including one called The Everliving. As details are almost non-existing, I decided to not include them for the time being.

  • Mumm-Ra are starting to develop a feeling for out-of-the-blue releases. In 2013 and 2014 they dropped a single and mini-album out of nowhere. Then a compilation album in 2020 and now, TODAY, they dropped a new single called called washout. Now available on all major platforms!

  • Better late than never! This update contains Mumm-Ra’s latest release Back To The Shore which was issued digitally in February this year and recently on CD in Japan. Check here all the details.

  • Well that is a nice surprise. I just stumbled upon a Japanese CD copy of Mumm-Ra‘s mini album Back To The Shore which was apparently released on June the 4th. Hope to add it in the next few weeks, together with the initial digital release which was issued in February of this year.

  • Another release which I never added until today: Mumm-Ra’s Technicolour which was a digital single, released in April 2013 through good old BandCamp.

  • Those who thought that the new Mumm-Ra section contains all releases are wrong, as I was still missing one promo (well, to my knowledge!). This CDr came in today and is now available for viewing.

A 2002 compilation CD from Japan arrived today as well which features two songs by メトロノーム. I mainly purchased this release to see if one track is the same recording or not when compared to the recording on a demo cassette. And it appears to be a re-recording, making the cassette even more desirable!

The last update is for Mirrors. I’ve acquired a new test pressing for their 2009 debut single Look At Me which is for the released version. “Are there more?” Yes! Just head over to their section and check out the differences!

  • It took me a while (I blame scanning all the different 7″ releases), but the section for Mumm-Ra is up and running! Check out all of their releases, CD – vinyl – digital, plus a few in-house CDr’s!
