  • Look At Me

This is where it all began. Mirrors’ first single, Look At Me. It was released as a one-sided red 7″ vinyl single and as as digital download.

The version featured on this release was different when compared to the 2011 album version. The band therefore marked this version as “Pure Groove Version” on later releases.

    7″ vinyl release

    Cat. nbr.: self-released – MIRRORS001

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Look At Me (Pure Groove Version)

    Side B

    1. blank

The single was self-released, but distributed by Pure Grooves. It was also briefly for sale during their 2010 concerts.

The band once mentioned on a Q&A website that this vinyl edition is limited to 300 copies. It comes with a small card which is, together with the record, housed in a plastic clear sleeve.

Catalogue number MIRRORS001 is only mentioned in the run out grooves.

    7″ vinyl test pressing

    Cat. nbr.: self-released none

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Look At Me (Pure Groove Version)

    Side B

    1. blank

Two different black one-sided 7″ vinyl test pressings exist. The first version was rejected, because the sound was not that good (it was too loud and thus sometimes sounded distorted). This one can be identified by looking at the matrix number which is 82521H1/A. The second pressing was approved and has the same matrix number as the released version, being 82521H1/B.

The number of copies is unknown, but expected to be 5 or less per pressing.

  • Into The Heart

Their second single, released on the Moshi Moshi label. Available as a 7″ vinyl single and a download.

The version featured on this release was different when compared to the 2011 album version. The band therefore marked this version as “Moshi Moshi Version” on later releases.

Have you ever wondered why the track Lights And Offerings was tagged as Moshi Moshi Version, but it is to date the only version available? Well, it seems that the band tried to record a better or new version during their June 2010 album sessions, but were not happy with the result and thus shelved it.

    7″ vinyl release

Cat. nbr.: Moshi Moshi Records – MOM025

    Track listing:

    2. Lights And Offerings (Moshi Moshi Version)

A promotional CDr was released which features regular versions as per the 7″ and digital releases. It comes in a clear plastic sleeve with a printed insert.

  • Ways To An End

This is the single that started my bad Mirrors habits. It was released as a 7″ vinyl single, digital download and as a promotional CD.

This was their first commercial release on the Skint Records label.

    7″ vinyl release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT184

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Ways To An End

    Side B

    1. Broken By Silence

This single features a great non-album track called Broken By Silence.

You could pre-order a fully signed copy of the 7″ single at RecordStore.co.uk as shown above.

    Digital release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT184D

    Track listing:

    1. Ways To An End (Radio Edit)
    2. Ways To An End
    3. Broken By Silence

A digital copy could be purchased through a variety of online platforms.

    Digital German release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – unknown

    Track listing:

    1. Ways To An End (Radio Edit)
    2. Ways To An End
    3. Broken By Silence
    4. Of The Night And The Light And The Half Light
    5. Of The Night And The Light And The Half Light (video)

Germany was special and had an extra track for the digital release plus a video, being Of The Night And The Light And The Half Light. This song was once part of the 2011 album song Secrets, making the song last for 14:05 minutes (including some additional unreleased audio). A working title for this song was Film Music.

    Promotional CD release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT184P

    Track listing:

    1. Ways To An End (Radio Edit)
    2. Ways To An End
    3. Broken By Silence

A promotional CDr was released which features the same songs as the (non-German) digital release. On this release though, the Radio Edit is simply called Edit.

It comes in a clear plastic outer sleeve.

  • Broken By Silence

Their first EP which was initially sold when they toured with OMD at the end of 2010. Though the EP sold out quickly to which Skint quickly reacted by selling the EP online as of 23 November 2010, despite the small text on the front of the sleeve stating Limited edition tour CD. Not available online. Ha!

The release date reflects the first night of their tour with OMD, which is thus the first time when the EP was physically for sale.

This release was a collection of their singles, B-sides, some mixes and a cover.

Signed copies were sent out to the first few lucky customers who bought the EP online.

The EP was released digitally in September 2011 which included two extra tracks.

    CD release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – MIRRORS001

    Track listing:

    1. Ways To An End
    2. Broken By Silence
    3. Look At Me (Pure Groove Version)
    4. Lights And Offerings (Moshi Moshi Version)
    5. Hide And Seek
    6. Toe The Line
    7. Look At Me (Laura Cantrell Cover Version)
    8. Lights And Offerings (Belbury Poly Mix)
    9. Into The Heart (Jonathan Kreinik Mix)

By this time the band was apparently planning to include Look At Me and Lights And Offerings on their debut album or a subsequent release as they were re-recorded during their June 2010 album sessions. They maybe therefore used the Pure Groove and Moshi Moshi tags on this EP to identify them as alternate versions. Only the re-recorded version for Look At Me was however released on the Lights And Offerings album in 2011.

This CD has the same catalogue number as their 2009 self-released 7″ single Look At Me.

Note that the artwork’s color is actually as per the below digital release. Many scanners tend to have issues with capturing the right color.

  • Hide And Seek

Hide And Seek was released on a number of formats: 7″ single, 12″ single, two digital releases and as a promotional CD.

The standard digital release features a longer Single Version of Hide And Seek though this version was not marked as such. The song does not fade out and runs for another few seconds, making the track 4:12 minutes long. All other releases feature the common 3:53 album version.

    7″ vinyl release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT198

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Hide And Seek

    Side B

    1. Toe The Line

This single features again a great non-album track called Toe The Line.

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Hide And Seek (Liv Spencer (House of House) Remix)
    2. Hide And Seek (Liv Spencer (House of House) Dub)

    Side B

    1. Hide And Seek (Leo Zero Remix)

This 12″ single was released in a generic black die-cut sleeve and features three remixes. It is marked as a promotional release on the B-side and, oddly enough, has the same catalogue number as the 7″ release. Despite being marked as a promo, it could be bought from the official Skint web shop.

    Digital release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT198D

    Track listing:

    1. Hide And Seek (Single Version)
    2. Toe The Line

    Digital remixes release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – unknown

    Track listing:

An additional digital single was released featuring five remixes and alternate artwork.

    Promotional CD release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT198P

    Track listing:

    1. Hide And Seek
    2. Hide And Seek (Edit)
    3. Toe The Line

A promotional CDr was released which features the two songs from the 7″ single and an edit. Note that the artwork lists track 1 as the edit, whereas it is actually track 2.

It comes in a clear plastic outer sleeve.

  • Into The Heart

The first single of 2011. Released as a 7″ vinyl single and digital download.

The Greek record label Undo wanted to release a limited 12″ single of 500 copies with remixes around May 2011, but this never materialized.

The digital and promotional releases feature a remix by Richard X. Most online stores call this the Richard X Radio Mix, though the promotional CD and at least the iTunes store call it the Richard X Radio Version.

    7″ vinyl release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT203

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Into The Heart

    Side B

    1. Falls By Another Name

This single features yet another great non-album track called Falls By Another Name.

This release features a stand alone version of the leading track, whereas the download release has the album version which simply cuts off at the end.

A 7″ test pressing could be won as part of a competition in February 2011.

    Digital release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT203D

    Track listing:

    1. Into The Heart
    2. Falls By Another Name
    3. Into The Heart (Jonathan Kreinik Mix)
    4. Into The Heart (Richard X Radio Mix)

Track 1 is simply the album version which cuts off at the end as per the indexation on the Lights And Offerings album. A true stand alone version can be found on the 7″ release.

    Digital iTunes release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – unknown

    Track listing:

    1. Into The Heart (Richard X Radio Mix)
    2. Into The Heart (Album Radio Edit)
    3. Into The Heart (video)

The digital iTunes single is missing the two remixes and the non-album B-side, but has instead a video of the leading track and a unique edit and stand alone version of the album version.

    Promotional CD release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT203P

    Track listing:

    1. Into The Heart (Richard X Radio Mix)
    2. Into The Heart (Album Radio Edit)
    3. Falls By Another Name

A CD was made to promote this single. It features three tracks and comes in a clear plastic outer sleeve.

Note that there is sometimes a red shade around the edges of the characters and the image on this disc. This is related to the printing process.

The referenced release date of 21 February 2011 on the sticker is incorrect. It was released one week earlier.

    Promotional CD release #2

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT203P

    Track listing:

    1. Into The Heart (Richard X Radio Mix)
    2. Into The Heart (Album Radio Edit)
    3. Falls By Another Name

A second promotional CD was made for unknown reasons (though maybe to align it from an artwork point of view as per the previous Skint promotional CD’s) which features the same tracks as the previous entry and has the same catalogue number, but comes with full artwork on the disc.

Also this one comes in a clear plastic outer sleeve.

    Dutch Promotional CD release

    Cat. nbr.: N.E.W.S. – none

    Track listing:

    1. Into The Heart (Album Radio Edit)

A Dutch one track promotional CD was issued in a slim jewel case on the N.E.W.S. label. It features the (Album) Radio Edit.

  • The White EP

The White EP was released for the UK’s April 2011 Record Store Day. People living outside of the UK could buy it online from Skint Records’ web shop after RSD had ended.

The A-side features the Look At Me cover version by Laura Cantrell, whereas the B-side features the Belbury Poly Remix of Lights And Offerings. It is beyond me why they released a cover version as the leading track.

    7″ vinyl release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT216ID

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Look At Me (Laura Cantrell Cover Version)

    Side B

    1. Lights And Offerings (Belbury Poly Mix)

The single was only released as a 7″ single on white vinyl. Hence the name The White EP. This name is otherwise nowhere mentioned on the release itself.

This particular copy has a signed A-side, which I obtained during a gig in Hamburg on 14 April 2011 (yes two days in advance of the release date).

    7″ vinyl test pressing

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – none

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Look At Me (Laura Cantrell Cover Version)

    Side B

    1. Lights And Offerings (Belbury Poly Mix)

A test pressing exists on black vinyl in a plain white sleeve.

The number of copies is unknown, but expected to be 5 or less.

  • Look At Me

This was the last single that was taken from their debut album. It was released as a 7″ single and digitally.

The Radio Edit is actually a remix and is called Radio Version on the iTunes release.

    7″ vinyl release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT219

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Look At Me

    Side B

    1. Perfectly Still

Their, to date (March 2024), last physical release in the form of a 7″ vinyl single. As with the other 7″ singles, this one also features a non-album track being Perfectly Still. Although this song was featured as a bonus track on the German Lights And Offerings CD album.

    7″ vinyl test pressing

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – none

    Track listing:

    Side A

    1. Look At Me

    Side B

    1. Perfectly Still

Another tasty, yet boring looking, test pressing.

The number of copies is unknown, but expected to be 5 or less.

    Digital release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT219D

    Track listing:

    1. Look At Me
    2. Perfectly Still
    3. Look At Me (Radio Edit)

A digital copy could be purchased through a variety of online platforms.

Track 3, the Radio Edit, is actually a remix and is tagged as a Radio Version on the iTunes release.

    Promotional CD release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT219P

    Track listing:

    1. Look At Me (Radio Edit)
    2. Perfectly Still
    3. Look At Me

A promotional CD was released which features the three songs from the digital release, though in a different order. The Radio Edit is not mentioned as such on the disc or artwork.

The CD comes in a custom die-cut cardboard sleeve.

  • Ways To An End (Radioactive Man Rework)

A single which was released to promote their Deconstructed EP. A horrible remix that you can live without and was only released digitally.

    Digital release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – unknown

    Track listing:

    1. Ways To An End (Radioactive Man Remix)
    2. Ways To An End (Radioactive Man Instrumental)
  • Deconstructed

Their second EP (not counting The White EP as an EP). Avoid it if you can, unless you really like remixes… and in most cases I don’t. I think that this one was released without ever consulting the band. It was a digital-only release.

    Digital release

Cat. nbr.: Skint Records – SKINT236D

    Track listing:

    1. Fear Of Drowning (Lapalux Remix)
    2. Write Through The Night (Rudi Zygadlo Remix)
    3. Somewhere Strange (Seth Remix)
    4. Ways To An End (Radioactive Man Remix)
    5. Fear Of Drowning (Lapalux Instrumental)
    6. Somewhere Strange (Seth Dub Mix)
    7. Ways To An End (Radioactive Man Instrumental)
  • This Year, Next Year, Sometime . . . ?

Their third EP. This Year, Next Year, Sometime . . . ? was released to try and finance their second album, though this never materialized.

    Digital release

    Cat. nbr.: self-releasednone

    Track listing:

    1. Dust
    2. Shooting Stars
    3. Blood Diamond (Home Demo)
    4. Pick Me Up (Home Demo)
    5. Nothing Lost (Home Demo)
    6. Leave Me Here (Home Demo)
    7. Dead Air (Home Demo)

The EP contains two new songs, which were uploaded to YouTube and SoundCloud by the band at the end of 2011, plus five unreleased demos.

Dead Air was a left-over from the June 2010 album sessions, whereas others are possibly from late 2011 (such as Blood Diamond).

An alternate unreleased version exists of Nothing Lost featuring a slightly different instrumental track and the vocals are in different places.

Six different formats of this EP can be digitally purchased: AAC, ALAC, FLAC, MP3 VBR, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis. They come with high quality artwork and most songs have their lyrics incorporated into the files.

You can get your digital copy over here: http://mirrorsofficial.bandcamp.com/.

  • Hourglass

Their first single for 2012 which was self-released and digital only as was the case with their EP This Year, Next Year, Sometime . . . ?.

This is, to date (March 2024), their final release.

    Digital release

    Cat. nbr.: self-releasednone

    Track listing:

    1. Hourglass
    2. Between Four Walls

Between Four Walls was featured on a 2018 2CD called The Electricity Club, making it the only physical release with this song.

Six different formats of this EP can be digitally purchased: AAC, ALAC, FLAC, MP3 VBR, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis. They have their lyrics incorporated into the files.
