Highlighting unknown, obscure or simply excellent musicians

A small personal website with the aim to share detailed release information for a number of artists, but also to highlight some items from my collection

Previous Stuff

  • I have no idea how this happened, but it appears that 宇宙戦隊NOIZ released a new mini-album on the 2nd of May called HIGH FIVE and I completely missed this fact! But no worries, I just ordered the album so expect all the details within a week or so 🙂

The soon-to-be-released updates (and some more!) are also coming together fine.

The new Japanese compilation album that features many artists (incl. 宇宙戦隊NOIZ) covering visual anime songs should arrive tomorrow, which will be part of the upcoming update as well.

  • Scans of Zebra and Snake‘s debut album Healing Music (the CD copy) have been added. The package comes with a small poster which also features full album lyrics. Nice!

  • Don’t forget that Zebra and Snake‘s debut album Healing Music will be released tomorrow in Germany and on Monday for the rest of Europe! Grab a copy while you can! You can also order CD and vinyl copies from their official store!

  • 宇宙戦隊NOIZ are going to be featured on a new Japanese compilation CD called CRUSH! 3-90’s V-Rock best hit cover LOVE songs- which will be released on the 27th of June. More details and the full artwork will be added once the album has landed on my doormat.

  • Those who thought that the new Mumm-Ra section contains all releases are wrong, as I was still missing one promo (well, to my knowledge!). This CDr came in today and is now available for viewing.

A 2002 compilation CD from Japan arrived today as well which features two songs by メトロノーム. I mainly purchased this release to see if one track is the same recording or not when compared to the recording on a demo cassette. And it appears to be a re-recording, making the cassette even more desirable!

The last update is for Mirrors. I’ve acquired a new test pressing for their 2009 debut single Look At Me which is for the released version. “Are there more?” Yes! Just head over to their section and check out the differences!

  • All the latest information has been added about Zebra and Snake‘s debut album Healing Music. This includes the full artwork and complete track listing for CD, vinyl and the digital release.

    Queen US shop display

Queen were on a roll during the early 80’s. They had a massive hit under their belt with the album The Game in 1980 and released a nice soundtrack album a few months later for Flash Gordon. In November 1981 they released their first compilation album called Greatest Hits, featuring most of their singles. It became an instant success and has to date sold over 25 million copies world wide!

In order to promote the album, some nice marketing items were made including, but not limited to, posters and promotional copies of the album itself. Besides those items, the US had a mobile shop display which is featured in the photo. It measures 37x37cm/14.5×14.5in in size and the logo, album title and group photo are cut out and tied together with some strings. This allows the outer edge to move and rotate separately from the two inner parts, making a nice effect when in motion.

A lot of copies were returned or binned after the promotional period ended, making this a hard to find item these days. In fact, this is arguably true for most shop displays so grab it if you find one!
